Routine maintenance includes regularly cleaning the latch and surrounding area to remove dust and debris, preventing jamming. Lubricate moving parts with WD-40 or silicone-based grease, pressing repeatedly to ensure penetration and extend lifespan.

In troubleshooting common problems, if the latch is stuck and cannot spring back, try a basic reset, such as using the remote key or mechanical key to trigger the reset procedure. Manual assistance can also be used; with the door handle pulled, gently pry the latch's return lever with a plastic pry bar or similar tool. If simple lubrication is ineffective, the lock body may need to be disassembled for targeted lubrication of the internal springs and slide rails. If the problem persists after adjusting the latch, check other components such as the door seals. For a completely jammed latch, try fine-tuning its position or disconnecting the car battery to reset the electronic system. If none of the above methods work, internal lock components may be damaged, and a professional should be contacted for repair.
